This weekend it’s time for the legendary opening of the festival season which will this year be a bit different for us.......
As you might have noticed in the last couple of months it’s been very quiet from our side. The reason is that we decided to stop producing music and leave the scene as ‘professionals’. In this post we want to explain to you why we made this decision, share some unforgettable memories and express our thanks to everyone who contributed to this journey.
In 2009 we had our very first booking as Noisecult and in 2011 we started producing our own music. We spent a lot of hours in our bedroom studios. During this period we always kept referring to the following quote: “Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm (Winston Churchill)”. Two and a half years later we had our first release on the Dirty Workz main label and enthusiastic we were!
After our first releases on the DWX label back in 2014, we had the privilege to play at some of the greatest festivals in the world: Defqon.1, Tomorrowland, Reverze, Intents, Q-Base, The Qontinent to name just a few. Tracks like The Light, Got it remix, Freight Train, Fly with me and Do It got some really good support from other DJ’s and our fans. Not to forget that we produced last year’s Rebirth Festival anthem; the place where it all begun. Looking back at the past 9 years, we are incredible proud & grateful for the amazing time we had in hardstyle and the things we’ve achieved.
Despite the efforts of combining a part-time job and trying to deliver top quality music, renting a studio at the DWX HQ and investing in the branding of NSCLT, making it a full-time profession wasn't likely. Sometimes plans don’t work out the way you thought they would. That's why we decided to stop making music and focus on our full-time jobs. We are happy to accept that, and are proud & grateful for the amazing time we had in hardstyle. We want to thank each and everyone of you for your support. The energy you gave us at our gigs is something we will cherish for a lifetime. It’s a cliché, but without your enthusiasm we would’ve never made it this far and you made this decision the toughest one in our lives so far. We would like to thank a couple of people specifically that helped us during our musical career:
D-Block & S-te-Fan, Frequencerz, Alphaverb - for always being an inspiration and supporting our tracks.
Dirty Workz: Koen, Marijn, Freek, Jaime, Ryan - What a great team to work with and thanks for your support from the early days.
Platform booking agency: Siemon, Tim & Mathijs - Handling our bookings and delivering a big smile on our face during lunch breaks.
Peter, Thomas & Tom - for helping us out everytime with our branding and strategy.
And all of our buddies (Ruud, Davij, Stephan, Tim) for always joining us to our bookings and making great memories!
Rebirth & Intents - for always giving us the best opportunities
Having said that, make sure that you are at Rebirth Festival 2018 - 10 Years Ceremonyl and Intents Festival, as these will be our very last gigs as NSCLT. These performances will be an emotional rollercoaster for us and we like you to hop on that train. And don’t worry, we will see you on the other side of the turntable ;)
